Car vs Car on early morning, icy, road
On Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 06:54Hrs Chester County Dispatch alerted Ridge Fire Co. (Station 62) and West End Ambulance
Sub-Station (MICU 1-67-3) for an auto accident on Pughtown Rd, between Finkbiner and Bethel Rd in East Vincent Twp. Assistant 62,
62-30, and the MICU went responding immediately. Rescue 62 and Squad 62 went responding as 62-30 arrived on scene and corrected
the location to the intersection of Pughtown and Finkbiner Rd. and stated that there were two vehicles blocking and everyone
out walking around. MICU 1-67-3 proceeded into confirm no services were needed and later cleared. Crews from the Rescue and
Squad cleared all debris and controlled fluids. PennDOT had been notified to send a salt truck to the scene to handle a large
ice patch just past the intersection. Standing water overnight froze from the dropping temperatures causing many hazardous spots
early in the morning for commuters.
A second accident was also received while on scene at the first one. Squad 62 and Engine 62-2 were responding to handle that
emergency when Fire and EMS services were cancelled, being a police incident only. All units were cleared from all calls by 08:55Hrs.
