Ridge Fire Second Annual Community Day - 9/15/2007

  On Saturday September 15th, 2007 Ridge Fire Company held it's second Annual Community Day. There were Fire Trucks, always good. There was free food, a moon bounce, and Sparky the Fire Dog. Some of the local ambulance services that service our area were there to show their trucks. The East Coventry police was there with cruisers and information. The weather was great. There was an extrication demonstration with the Fire Fighters "opening" a car for better access. People got to spray a real fire hose. Phoenixville Hospital Community Outreach was there doing blood pressure checks and giving out information. We had the SAFETY "smoke" house open. We had a "burn" building and an "air bag" demo.

There was a large crowd and everyone had a good time and learned something.

We want to thank everyone who attended and all the businesses and people that helped make it possible.

The Safety House

Inside it is setup to show some common mistakes people make in their kitchens, living rooms, etc. We can go into the "bedroom" and hear a smoke detector, feel for a hot door, and see a "smoke" filled room. We can discuss having two ways out, what to do if there is a fire, how to call 911. etc.
