Live Fire Drill 05/06/2008
This garage was donated to Ridge Fire Company to use for practice. We used the same building for Ventilation Practice 04/29/2008.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2008 during our weekly evening training some of our members got a chance to practice with some real fire. The previous Tuesday members were given a chance to practice their vertical ventilation on this donated garage. The owner donated the garage to the fire company to practice with and then to finally burn down for demolition. After we turned the roof into Swiss cheese the week before it was now time to burn it down. Crews from Engine 62-2 stood by with the booster lines to practice protecting the exposures. Which in this case were two trees and a hedge of bushes. Engine 62-1 arrived and topped Eng 62-2’s tank off before being called out on an accident on Rt. 100. Mission was accomplished and all crews returned back to station for the rest of the evening.
