Tour Information

  Various groups, including Scouts, Day Care Centers, and groups of neighbors have enjoyed touring our Fire House in the past.

   We provide Fire Prevention "classes" and tours. These are popular, especially during Fire Prevention Week, however we have limited staff who can leave work to spend the time during the day for these. If your group can come to the fire house on an evening, there are more volunteers available to help. If interested, plan ahead!! We need time to arrange staff!!  We can bring a truck to your site, such as an elementary school, during the school day to talk about fire safety, and give a tour of the truck.

Fire Prevention Week is the week, Sunday through Saturday, that October 9th falls within. This is to remember the Chicago Fire which started October 9th, 1871.

Fire Prevention Week 2006

Sunday October 8th through Saturday October 14th

This years theme: "Prevent Cooking Fires: Watch What You Heat"

More fires start in the kitchen than in any other part of the home.

During this years Fire Prevention week, as of 11/1/2006, we;

..talked to over 500 kids and teachers at six local schools and day care centers.

..talked to over 250 kids and adults at two local community event.

..spent over 130 volunteer man hours.
