Just before noon, Station 62 along with INT 83-4 (Friendship EMS) were dispatched to Seven Stars Road and Heritage Drive for an auto accident. Lieutenant 62 arrived to find a two vehicle accident with two injuries as well as one of the involved vehicles on fire. MICU 65-1 (Tower Health) was dispatched to assist with the second patient. Lieutenant 62 utilized a fire extinguisher to keep the fire in check until the arrival of Rescue 62. Rescue 62 arrived and extinguished the fire by placing a booster line in service. Engine 62-1 arrived and assisted with hazard control and debris removal. EMS evaluated and transported patients to a local hospital for treatment. Traffic 62 and Utility 62-1 shut down traffic as crews operated on the scene. Crews were in service for just under an hour before returning to the station.
