Accident with Entrapment on Route 23

Just after 6pm, Station 62 along with MICU 83-4 (Friendship EMS) were called to the 300 block of Ridge Road for an accident with injuries. Seconds after dispatch Chester County advised Chief 62 of reports of entrapment and multiple patients adding on MICU 325-13 (Friendship EMS) to the assignment. Lieutenant 62 arrived shortly after the upgrade and began assessing patient access and requesting Rt 23 to be shutdown. Battalion 62 arrived and established "Route 23 Command". Rescue 62 arrived and began vehicle stabilization. Engine 62-1 arrived and assisted the crew of Rescue 62 and EMS with patient packaging and removal. EMS transported the occupants of both vehicles to local hospitals for treatment. 62 fire police shut down Route 23 as crews operated on the scene and police conducted their investigation. Crews were in service for about an hour.
