Ridge Crews Keep Busy

Just after 7:30am, Station 62 was dispatched to the unit block of Painters Lane to assist MICU 84-2 (Goodwill EMS) on a medical call and were in service for approximately 30 minutes. At approximately 11:30am, Engine 62-5 was dispatched on the 2nd alarm to the 200 block of Limerick Center Road. Montgomery County Station 51(Limerick) crews were on location with a working building fire from single family dwelling. Crews operated and assisted with overhaul for about one hour. Just before 4:30pm, Traffic 62 was dispatched to assisted East Coventry Police with traffic control at an accident scene at New Schuylkill Road and Linfield Road. While operating on that incident East Coventry Police were flagged down for a sick person on the 2500 block of New Schuylkill Road. Upon the arrival of MICU 84-2 (Goodwill EMS), their crews were getting high readings of carbon monoxide in the building, and Station 62 was dispatched. Crews from Engine 62-1 performed primary searches of the building and began ventilation with the assistance of Utility 62-1 and Utility 62-2. MICU 84-2 transported a patient to a local hospital for treatment. Due to the size of the building and the high readings, Montgomery County Ladder 51 (Limerick) was dispatched to assist with ventilation. Crews were on scene for almost two hours before returning to the station. At 7:35pm, Station 62 was dispatched to the 2200 block of Kimberton Road in Station 61's (Kimberton) local for a structure fire, which was quickly determined to be a controlled burn and the assignment was recalled. The last call of the day came in at Bertolet School Road and Route 23 for an auto accident. Rescue 62, Traffic 62, and MICU 83-4 (Friendship EMS) responded and were on scene for about 20 minutes before returning into service.
