On Saturday, September 11, 2021 the members of Ridge Fire Company celebrated the Fire House's 85th Anniversary, our Community Day and of course the 20th anniversary of the terrible tragedy of 9/11. It was a great day for hot dogs donated by Belfor, drinks donated by WaWa and serving water ice, donated by Ridge Fire Company, in our Ridge Fire Company - 9/11 remembrance color changing cups. We had a nice turnout! Everyone was able to visit with the ambulances, see a police car and also tours of our fire trucks and all of our apparatus. Our fire prevention table was set up with handouts for the kids such as fire hats, coloring books, pencils, erasers and stickers along with Ridge Fire Company tee shirts available for purchase. We had an exciting day doing demonstrations such as trying on real fire gear, spraying the fire hose, trying out an extraction tool on an actual car, and watching an air bag deploy with a vehicle extrication, plus more. At the end of the day our fire fighters did a demonstration on a make shift burning small wooden house. Our members worked hard to make this a special and memberable day for our community! We would like to also thank Mike Schneider for being our photographer, catching every moment throughout the day and donating a flash drive with all of the pictures that were taken.
