Saturday Afternoon Keeps Crews Busy

Just before 11:30am, Station 62 was dispatched to the 300 block of Lucas Road for a brush fire. Chief 62 arrived with a field on fire and rapidly spreading due to high wind conditions. Brush 62 and Engine 62-2 quickly arrived and began extinguishing the fire. Traffic 62 shut down Lucas Road and detoured traffic. Engine 62-5 arrived and supplied water Engine 62-2, Brush 62, and ATV 62. Crews operated on the scene for about one hour. Around 1:00pm, Station 62, Station 64 (Norco), Montgomery County Station 51 (Limerick), and Intermediate 84-2(Goodwill EMS) were called to the 1700 block of Summer Lane for a building fire. Chief 62 and Engine 64-5 arrived to find a small mulch fire that had extended to the siding of the building. Engine 64-5 quickly extinguished the fire with a fire extinguishers and crews returned to station. Station 62 was called for a pole on fire on the 100 block of Sanatoga Road just before 3pm. Crews arrived to find a tree down on electrical wires. PECO was notified and the fire was quickly extinguished..
