Just before 5:30pm a line of severe thunderstorms moved through the area , prompting numerous calls for service. Station 62 was alerted to the 1200 block of Laurelwood Road to assist Station 64 (Norco) on a reported house fire. Engine 62-1,Engine 62-5 and Traffic 62 made the response. 64 units were able to quickly confine the fire to the electrical box. While on the scene the station was dispatched to wires down on the 1600 block of Ellis Woods Road and an electrical fire inside on the Unit Block of Dare Lane. Engine 62-2 responded to Ellis Woods Road prior to responding to Dare Lane.62 units were released from Laurelwood Road, Engine 62-1 and Traffic 62 returned to back to our local to handle any additional calls.Crews cleared both locations after investigating. The last call of the day came around 7pm when Engine 62-2 was dispatched to the area of Cold Stream Road and Route 113 to assist Station 61 (Kimberton) with wires down while they operated on several calls in their response area. Upon arrival , PECO was working in the area and Engine 62-2 cleared and returned to the station. Prior to the storms , Engine 62-1 also responded to an odor investigation on the 300 block of Old Schuylkill Road around 12:30pm.
