Just after 10pm, Engine 62-1 was dispatched to the 1000 block of Collegeville Avenue in Upper Providence Township Montgomery County to assist crews already battling a fire in a barn. Due to the bitter cold and wind chills command called in relief crews from Chester County which also included 68 (Valley Forge), 61(Kimberton), and 63(Liberty) to relieve the crews that were fighting the fire which had been initially dispatched around 8pm. Crews from Engine 62-1 and Kimberton assisted with extinguishing the remaining areas of hay/straw on fire on the top side of the barn. Crews from 63 and 68 assisted with removing live animals from the bottom of the barn and then assisted on with the remaining hay smoldering. All crews then assisted with breaking down the handlines and supply lines before returning to the station around 2am.
