| Just before 1pm, Station 62 was requested to assist Station 69 (Twin Valley) with a working woods fire in the 400 block of Hopewell Road within the French Creek/ Hopewell Forest area. Brush 62, Engine 62-5, and Utility 62-1 with ATV 62 made the response. 69 crews were battling a rapidly spreading fire in a remote area with limited access. Crews spent several hours bringing the stubborn fire under control within a 7 acre area. Ridge personnel operated on scene with crews from Chester, Berks, Montgomery, and Lancaster Counties until approximately 10pm. Additional DCNR crews were brought in for nightwatch and monitored the remaining hotspots. |
