Crews Remain Busy

Just before 7am, Station 62, along with MICU 83-2 (Friendship EMS), were dispatched to the area of Route 23 and Route 100 for an auto accident. Deputy 62 arrived to find a two vehicle accident blocking with injuries. Medic 325-65 was added to the assignment. Due to traffic conditions, Station 73 (Ludwigs Corner) Fire Police were dispatched to assist 62 Fire Police. Rescue 62 arrived and assisted with hazard/traffic control and scene cleanup. EMS transported patients to an area hospital for treatment. Crews were in service for approximately one hour.

Just before 2pm, Station 62 and MICU 83-2 (Friendship EMS) were called to the 200 block of Slonaker Road in East Vincent for a rescue. Upon arrival, 62 Chief Officers found a patient whose leg had become trapped in a storm grate. Rescue 62 crews utilized a hydraulic tool to free the patient quickly. EMS evaluated the patient and crews cleared after operating for about 20 minutes.
