| Just before 7am, Station 62 was dispatched to the 2000 block of Pottstown Pike (Route 100) for a fire alarm. Chester County 911 then advised units they received a call reporting a fire in the building. The assignment was upgraded, bringing in Station 64 (Norco) and Goodwill EMS. Deputy 62 arrived shortly after the upgrade and reported smoke showing with a working fire. The Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted, bringing Tanker 61 (Kimberton), Engine 69-5 (Twin Valley), Engine 73-5 (Ludwig’s Corner), and Montgomery County Rescue 98 (Royersford) for the cascade. Engine 62-1 arrived and went into service with two handlines, quickly putting a knock on the fire. Engine 62-5 arrived and supplied Engine 62-1. Rescue 62 arrived and, along with the crew of Engine 62-5, began salvage and overhaul. The fire was quickly placed under control. Crews remained on location as the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted their investigation. Station 62 operated for just over two hours before returning to the station. Thank you to Tanker 61 and Engine 51 (Limerick FD) for covering the region from Station 62. |
