Busy Day for Ridge Volunteers

Crews started the day just before 7am being dispatched along with MICU 84-2 (Goodwill) to the area of Route 724 and Sanatoga Road for an accident with injuries. Chief 62 arrived to find a two vehicle accident blocking the roadway. Chief 62 dispatched additional fire police from Station 63 (Liberty) and Montgomery County Station 51 (Limerick) to assisted 62 fire police with traffic control. Rescue 62 responded and assisted with hazard control and debris removal. Crews operated on the scene for about one hour before returning to the station.

At around 9:30am Station 62 was dispatched to the unit block of Savanna Drive to assist MICU 83-2. Utility 62-1 responded and was on scene for about thirty minutes before returning to the station.

At approximately 11:30am Engine 62-1 was dispatched to the 400 block of West Seven Stars Road in Station 61’s (Kimberton) local for a carbon monoxide alarm. Deputy 61 arrived and determined there was no problem before recalling the assignment.

Just before 4pm Engine 62-5 was dispatched along with other mutual aid units to the 1200 block of Yellow Springs Road also in Station 61’s local for a house fire. Crews arrived and quickly extinguished a small fire in a crawl space of the home. The remainder of the assignment was scaled back and Engine 62-5 was recalled and returned to the station.
