Accident with Entrapment on Route 724

At 12:30pm Station 62 along with MICU 84 (Goodwill) and Medic 329 (Goodwill) were dispatched to the intersection of Route 724 and Linfield Road for an accident with reported entrapment. East Coventry Police were on location confirming entrapment. Rescue 62 along with Deputy 62 arrived on location , and quickly went into service removing the driver’s side door while EMS tended to the patients of each vehicle. Rescue 62’s crew was able to quickly remove the door allowing for rapid extrication of the trapped driver. Station 63 (Liberty Fire Company) fire police were dispatched to assisted 62 fire police with traffic control. Engine 62-1 arrived and assisted with hazard cleanup and patient packaging . EMS crews transported the occupants of both vehicles to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries . Crews were back at the station after about one hour.
