An Evening of Community Service and Support

On Tuesday July 12th during our weekly training and work night crews were in the middle of our second roadside clean up of the year, along the state maintained sections of Ellis Woods and Sheeder Rd as part of the PennDOT Adopt a Highway program, when we were alerted for a Fire Alarm in South Coventry Twp. Upon returning to the station members were greeted with pizza as thank you from the family of 2 pups, Millie and Sawyer.

You may remember a month earlier that Millie and Sawyer gave their owners quite a scare when they got out from their property and couldn’t be found. Thankfully through a strong community effort organized through the community social media pages Sawyer was located watching over Millie who had fallen down an abandoned well in a wooded section of East Coventry Twp. On June 13th East Coventry PD and Ridge Fire Co responded to assist with extricating Millie from the well unharmed so she could be reunited with her family and her partner in crime Sawyer. The family had reached out to express their appreciation and organized a social evening for the Ridge Volunteers. We appreciate the continued support from the community and are happy to serve the residents and guests of our community in their time of need.
