Just after 10pm , Station 62, Montgomery County Station 51 (Limerick), and MICU 84-1 (Goodwill EMS) were alerted to a possible house fire on the 1300 Block of Old Schuylkill Road , caller reporting smoke coming from the roof. Chief 62 arrived on scene with smoke showing and a possible fire on the second floor , while Deputy 62 arrived shortly after establishing command. Engine 62-1 arrived and stretched an 1 3/4 attack line to the second floor. Ladder 51 arrived and assisted with a primary search, while Engine 62-5 established a water supply.
Due to high heat and low visibility, a second line was stretched to the second floor , and an addition engine from Station 64 (Norco) was special called to the scene for manpower. Crews brought the fire under control within 30 minutes, however extensive overhaul was required. Special thanks to Goodwill EMS for providing rest and rehab everyone operating on the fireground. Fire police from both Ridge and Limerick controlled traffic on the scene. Thank you to Station 69 (Twin Valley) for covering our local while we operated on this incident and handling a fire alarm on the 3000 block of Chestnut Hill Road. Crews returned to the station just before 1am.
