Approximately 40 minutes after returning from an EMS Assist call in South Coventry Twp, Chester County Communications alerted Ridge FC to assist Twin Valley and other mutual aid companies on the first alarm assignment for a possible house fire in the 2500 block of Ridge Rd in Warwick Twp. Initial notes indicated a passerby saw flames from the roof of a dwelling in that area. Chief 69 arrived on location confirming that he had a working barn fire and requested the Working Fire Dispatch along with the First Alarm Tanker Taskforce due to no hydrants in the area. Chief 69 requested Engine 62-5 complete the supply lay down the driveway and hook into the supply line laid by the 69 Apparatus. Rescue 62 and Engine 62-2’s crews worked with Glen Moore Engine 48-5’s crew on Ridge Road to setup a dump site and supply the line going to Engine 62-5. Engines from Glen Moore (Eng 48-1) and Ludwigs Corner (Eng 73-1) setup fill sites for the tankers in St. Peter’s and Elverson. 62 and 69 Fire Police closed Ridge Rd for the tanker shuttle.

Manpower assisted at the dump site and at the fire scene working with crews from Twin Valley and several area mutual aid companies. Master stream operations were used due to the structural integrity of the barn being compromised and solar panel equipment used on the roof. An excavator was requested by command to assist with dismantling the barn allowing the structure to be fully extinguished.

62 Fire Apparatus cleared the scene around 3:30am

Special Thank you to Limerick Fire Dept (Squad 51) and Paoli Fire Co. (Engine 3-5) for standing by at our station to cover the 62 Local late into the night.
