Tour Information
Various groups, including Scouts, Day Care Centers, and groups of neighbors have enjoyed touring our Fire House in the past.
We provide Fire Prevention "classes" and tours. These are popular, especially during Fire Prevention Week, however we have limited staff who can leave work to spend the time during the day for these. If your group can come to the fire house on an evening, there are more volunteers available to help. If interested, plan ahead!! We need time to arrange staff!! We can bring a truck to your site, such as an elementary school, during the school day to talk about fire safety, and give a tour of the truck.
Fire Prevention Week is the week, Sunday through Saturday, that October 9th falls within. This is to remember the The Great Chicago Fire of October 1871 which started the 8th, burned most fiercely the 9th, and continued into the 10th.
