On Wednesday, March 15th at 1:37am Station 62 was alerted to assist Station 64 (Norco) on a working house fire in the area of W. Cedarville Rd and Catfish Ln in North Coventry Twp. Dep 64 arrived shortly after the upgrade confirming a 2-story farmhouse with fire throughout the dwelling. Engine 62-5 and Engine 62-1 made the response and assisted with manpower on scene for fire attack and shuttling water as part of a tanker shuttle between the fill site setup at Station 64 and the fire scene due to no hydrants in the area. Additional tankers were called to assist with water supply as multiple master streams were in use to bring the fire under control. High winds helped the fire spread very quickly through the old farmhouse and made for a very cold night for responders. Crews operated on scene for close to 3 hours before returning to quarters at just after 5am. Engine 62-5 made trips supplying an estimated 18,000 gallons of water to the fire scene.
Special Thank you to Valley Forge Fire Co for providing stand by coverage to our local overnight with Engine 68-5 while we operated on scene.
