April 15, 2025

Shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 Chester County 911 alerted Ridge (62), Norco (64), and Goodwill EMS (MICU 84) for a reported house fire in the 2100 block of Pottstown Pike in South Coventry Twp. Deputy 62 and Battalion 64 responded at dispatch and were advised that a passerby was reporting flames from the rear of the dwelling. Further reports from 911 advised that the fire was spreading. The Working Fire Dispatch was requested by Deputy 62 at that time, bringing Pumper Tankers from Ludwigs Corner (73) and Twin Valley (69), along with Rescue 73 for their cascade to the scene. LT 62 arrived on the scene and confirmed a working fire and began his scene size up as Chief Officers from 62 and 64 arrived and Rt 100 Command was established.

Engine 62-1 arrived and led off with handlines to the rear of the structure where the main fire was located and to the second floor for possible extension. Crews conducted a primary search of the residence, confirming there were no occupants inside. Tower 64’s crew assisted with the search of the residence and confirmed no extension to the 2nd floor or attic space. Engine 62-5 setup water supply to Engine 62-1 while Engines 73-5 and 69-5 stood by with additional water if needed. The fire was placed under control about 20 mins after dispatch. All crews assisted with overhaul and confirmed the fire had been contained to the rear of the residence. Rescue 73 set up their cascade to fill air bottles on scene, while the Fire Marshalls conducted their investigation.

62 Fire Police assisted on scene with keeping rush hour traffic moving on Rt 100 during the incident.

Thank you to Norco, Ludwigs Corner, Twin Valley FD and Goodwill EMS for their assistance on scene. Mutual Aid units began to return just before 6:30pm with all 62 units cleared of the scene just after 7:30pm.
